1. Postal Assistant

Pay: Level 4 (Rs 25,500 - Rs.81,100)
Educational Qualifications:
a) Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University.
b) Proficiency in computer usage.
2. Sorting Assistant
No of posts: 143 posts
Pay: Level 4 (Rs 25,500 - Rs.81,100)
Educational Qualification:
a) Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University.
b) Knowledge of working on computer.
3. Postman
No of posts: 585 posts
Pay: Level 3 (Rs 21,700 - Rs.69,100)
Educational Qualification:
a) 12th standard pass from a recognized Board.
b) Should have passed local language of the concerned Postal Circle or Division as one of the subjects in 10th standard or above.
c) Knowledge of working on Computer.
d) Valid license to drive two-wheeler or Light Motor Vehicle (For the post of Postman only). Persons with Benchmark Disability are exempted from the possession of license.
4. Mail Guard
No of posts: 3 posts
Pay: Level 3 (Rs 21,700 - Rs.69,100)
Educational Qualification:
a) 12th standard pass from a recognized Board.
b) Should have passed local language of the concerned Postal Circle or Division as one of the subjects in 10th standard or above.
c) Knowledge of working on Computer.
d) Valid license to drive two-wheeler or Light Motor Vehicle (For the post of Postman only). Persons with Benchmark Disability are exempted from the possession of license.
5. Multi-Tasking Staff
Number of posts: 570
Pay: Level 1 (Rs 18,000 - Rs.56,900)
Educational Qualification: 10th grade pass from a recognized Board.
Other India Post Recruitment Criteria
Age Limit:
# Postal Assistant/ Sorting Assistant/ Postman/ Mail Guard: Candidates must be between 18-27 years old.
# Multi Tasking Staff: Candidates must be between 18-25 years old.
Age Relaxation: A five (5) year relaxation in the upper age limit is allowed in each case. Additionally, candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC) / Scheduled Tribe (ST) are allowed an additional five (5) year relaxation in the upper age limit. Therefore, a total of 10 years of age relaxation is allowed for SC/ST candidates only.
Sports Qualification: Candidates will be considered as meritorious sportspersons for recruitment under this notification based on the following criteria:
a) Sportspersons who have represented a State or the Country in National or International competitions in any of the sports / games mentioned in the notification.
b) Sportspersons who have represented their university in the Inter-University Tournaments conducted by the Inter-University Sports Board in any of the sports / games mentioned in para 7 of the notification.
c) Sportspersons who have represented the State School teams in the National Sports / Games for schools conducted by the All India School Games Federation in any of the sports / games mentioned in para 7 of the notification.
d) Sportspersons who have been awarded National Awards in Physical Efficiency under the National Physical Efficiency Drive.

Selection Process for India Post GDS Recruitment:
The selection process for India Post GDS Recruitment consists of the following stages:
1. Preparation of Merit List: All candidates who meet the conditions and possess certificates in the prescribed form issued by the competent authority, as mentioned in the official notification, will be eligible for inclusion in the provisional merit list. The list will be based on their preferences for both Cadre and Postal Circle, up to the number of vacancies notified for each Cadre (Post).
2. Cadre/Circle Allotment: A candidate will be considered for their first preferred cadre for all opted Postal Circles, followed by their 2nd preferred cadre for all opted Postal Circles, and so on. They will not be considered for cadres/Postal Circles not opted by them.
Note: The provisional merit list will be prepared based only on the information provided in the online application portal. No additional information will be entertained in offline mode before the preparation of the provisional merit list. Candidates are advised to provide only the details of their highest participation/achievement in sports. For example, if a candidate has participated in both National and International events, they should submit details of all such International events, for which they have a valid Form-1, and need not provide details of all other achievements.
