Assam Direct Recruitment

Brief Information: The respective State Level Recruitment Commissions of the Government of Assam have issued two employment notifications for the recruitment of 12,600 Grade III & Grade IV vacancies in various departments/establishments of the Government of Assam. These vacancies will be filled according to the recruitment rules formulated by the newly established Assam Direct Recruitment Commission for Analogous Posts in Class III and Class IV Act 2021, as well as the Assam Direct Recruitment for Class III and Class IV Analogous Posts Rules 2022. A single written exam, along with a skill test or interview, will be conducted for each category of posts. Subsequently, a merit list will be prepared for the appointment process.

Assam Direct Recruitment Details

Name of Post/s: Grade III and Grade IV

Educational Qualifications for Assam Direct Recruitment

The eligibility criteria for each category are as follows:

Grade-IV (Class-IV)

Qualification         No of posts

Read up to Class VIII   1,950

HSLC or Equivalent passed   1,060

HSLC with ITI   1,990

Total posts   5,000

 

Maximum Qualification: The maximum allowed educational qualification for Class-IV posts is HSSLC or class 12th or equivalent examination passed. Candidates with a higher qualification on the date of application are not eligible to apply for these vacancies.

Grade III (Category I)

No of posts: 4,055 posts

Educational Qualification: Post-wise qualifications are as follows:

  • - Candidates must have passed Bachelor’s Degree. (As applicable)
  • - Candidates must have passed Bachelor’s Degree with a Computer Certificate/Diploma of minimum 6 months duration. (As applicable)
  • - Candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree with a Computer Certificate/Diploma of minimum 6 months duration and a Stenography Certificate from a recognized Institute. (As applicable)
  • - Candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Library Science with a Computer Certificate/Diploma of minimum 6 months duration from a recognized Institute. (As applicable)

Grade III (Category II)

Educational Qualification: Candidates must have passed HSSLC or class 12th or equivalent examinations. (Some specific posts require candidates to have passed class 12th from the science stream.)

Grade III (Category III)

Name of post: Driver

No of posts: 418 posts

Educational Qualification: Candidates must have passed HSLC or equivalent examination with a valid LMV Driving Licence.

Additional Requirements for Direct Recruitment in Assam

Age Limit: The candidate must be at least 18 years old and not exceed 40 years old as of January 1, 2023.

Age Relaxation: The upper age relaxation for each category is as follows:

Citizenship: Candidates must be Indian citizens.

Employment Exchange Registration: Candidates must register their name in any of the employment exchanges of Assam

Working Candidates: Candidates who are already employed in the government sector must present a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the respective Heads of Departments (HoDs) during the Skill test/Document Verification.

Assam Direct Recruitment: No Application Fee Required

 

For this year's Assam Direct Recruitment Examination, candidates will not be charged an application fee, unlike in previous years. The following table shows the category-wise application fee for Grade III and IV positions:

Selection Process of Assam Direct Recruitment

The selection process for ADRE 2023 has not been released yet. According to the official notification, the examination scheme will be published at least one week before the written test. Candidates are advised to refer to the previous year's selection process for an idea about the exam, as described below.

Assam Direct Recruitment Commission will conduct separate competitive examinations for different categories of posts. The commission will select candidates for recommendation based on merit, considering reservations for SC, ST, OBC, and other categories, in order of higher Grade Pay.

The examinations will be held on different dates to allow candidates with higher degrees to appear in multiple exams.

 

Bachelor's Degree Level

 

The commission will organize separate exams based on the following eligibility qualifications for the posts:

 

1. Bachelor's Degree.

2. Bachelor's Degree with Computer Skill.

3. Bachelor's Degree in Science.

4. Bachelor's Degree in Commerce.

5. Bachelor's Degree with Economics/Statistics/Mathematics.

 

Stage 1 (Written Exam)

 

Candidates applying for graduate level posts will have to appear for a written test in the first phase of the recruitment process. The details of the written test are as follows:

 

Type of exam: Written Examination

Mode of exam: Offline

Type of questions: Objective Multiple Choice Type Questions (MCQs)

1. Higher Secondary or equivalent examination passed.

Merit List

 

The merit list for appointment to various posts will be prepared in the following stages:

 

1. A list of all candidates will be prepared in order of merit based on the marks obtained in the written examination.

2. The Commission will determine the minimum qualifying marks for General Candidates and Candidates belonging to reserved categories. These marks will be used to shortlist candidates from the above list for the Computer test/ other test/ practical test, based on a ratio decided by the Commission.

3. The Commission will also set minimum qualifying marks for the Computer test/ other test/ practical test.

4. Candidates who score below the qualifying marks in the Computer test/ other test/ practical test will not be eligible for selection.

5. The final merit list for Class III and IV posts will be based on the total marks obtained in the written examination and the Computer Test or Other Test or Interview.
